Just finished The Help. It is our Oct. pick for our new book club. Like some of my other favorite books, I will miss the characters. You want the book to go on and on….or maybe a sequel?? It would make a great movie! Once you start reading The Help you just can’t put it down.

A friend of mine had one of these… as soon as I saw it, I just had to order one. It sits the Garmin on my dash perfectly, and it does not move! I would recommend this to anyone who has a Garmin!

Let’s start this off with saying that I thought Holden Caufield, from J. D. Salinger’s Catcher in the Rye, is one of the most disrespectful teens I’ve ever read about. Then I realized that most of his potty mouth or rude comments stay in his head. I though this character reminds me of me sometimes. What he thinks and what he does can be completely different things.
I thought this book was really good. The beginning is a little bit slow but Salinger really must have targeted the teen audience. Though a lot of people think this book should be read by college students, I think anyone in high or even upper middle school would be able to relate.
It makes me wonder what happens to Holden Caufield. I think his experience wandering around New York alone would help him learn that the world doesn’t revolve around him. As a teen I have to admit that at most time I think the same way. I think that Holden has a lot of potential and that he could live up to it if he really strived to. I would recommend this book, its funny and a nonstop page turner.

I’ve read the 5 books of this series and cannot wait for the 6th! This author has a wonderful imagination and sense of humor! The earth-eating, flatulent Mulch Diggums is my favorite character! I wonder who’ll be cast to play his part in the movie? hmmm

Artemis Fowl is a genius and a criminal mastermind, plus he is 13. It all starts when Artemis hears about fairies. After a long search Artemis gets his hands on a Fairy Bible. With the help of his bodyguard Artemis captures a fairy, a police fairy. After the capture there came war between 3 humans and a fairy army, but it took place in his house. A great fantasy incorporated into modern times.
I think that Artemis Fowl is a brilliant book. I love how Eoin Colfer used technology with the fairies. He created a whole new image of fairies in my head after I started reading through it. I would definitely recommend this book to any one who likes fantasy. It might be a fantasy but it is also seems like science fiction at times, with all the fairy technology being so far advanced to anything we have today. It was a real page turner too. There was never really a dull moment in the book. Whenever Artemis thinks there is either a plan coming up or something must be going on, say a conflict. So whenever Artemis doesn’t think it settles down, but that is very rarely. Even though it was a good book the plot isn’t very believable. You don’t really hear of 13 year old boys being smarter than most adults, who is a criminal mastermind. If there was a civilization underground by now I also think that it would be discovered. Even though it was unbelievable I very much enjoyed the style of writing. I’m already a fan of fantasy, and to add futuristic items just really made me enjoy it. The best part is how he turned fairy terms we know of into something else like our leprechaun is actually LEPrecon, a retrieval team to get back fairies. Overall, if I could I would rate Artemis Fowl a 7 out of 5.

I have actually bought this one 2x. We left it running on the cord and the cord got damaged but it still worked. Didn’t seem safe so we bought the same one again. I think it’s a great machine and I would never go back to a cyclonic vacuum. Seems like less dust in the air with bagged. The price was right and it does the job well.

I have a cat that tracks in mud, so I wanted something to clean the carpet up a bit. Works the way I expected. It’s easy to use.
