George Stevens’s inlook on the AEF from D-Day to Berlin presents an astonishing and macabre focus not on the battle, but the eternall journey to V-E day. Along this journey, Mr.Stevens brings into delight the horrifying death and exterminating camps of Dachau. The color sots are vivetting, careful not to turn our stomachs with “gross” scenes, he does show the reality of war and the wage of war on man’s delicate souls, including death. A must see for all genertions, and why we need a memorium for the over 400,000 KIA, MIA men/women of all ethnic backgrounds of Americans in WWII. I am black, and realize that hatred is evil, the Holocaust justified that demeanour.

Consistently written from a space of incredible compassion and profound understanding of the human condition, Dr. Howard Thurman’s extraordinary path unfolds as if it were any man’s path. He was mentor to the young Martin Luther King, friend and confidante of Mahatma Gandhi, and founder of San Francisco’s Church for the Fellowship of All Peoples; all performed while living the experience of a black man during America’s most racially turbulent years. Though he comes from a Christian background and is steeped in Christian theology, his understanding is that of the mystic; seeing the heart of truth in all the world’s belief systems. Dr. Thurman is not widely known, but should be on the reading list of anyone who seeks insight into how to move the heart into the world. I will never be without Dr. Thurman’s guidance in my life again

I just have to share this! I loved this pedometer and was using it every day and found that it did help me to increase my steps per day. Then I left it in the pocket of my jeans and washed it!! It fell out before I loaded the clothes in the dryer. Fortunately, I have an eyeglass screwdriver, which you WILL need to change the battery. I took out the battery, unscrewed the three other tiny screws, and took the whole thing apart. I put it on the top of a bookcase to dry, with the four tiny screws in the lid from a vitamin bottle. Then, because I didn’t really BELIEVE that it was savable, I left it there for more than a month. Then, about to toss it in the trash, I decided to put it back together, which was easy, since it is so well designed. I haven’t set all the functions yet, because I have forgotten how, but it is counting steps justs fine, with the same battery! I love this thing and plan to check my pockets before washing every time. . .

Wanna have even more FUN with loved ones? Wanna spend more time with someone, but can’t get past awkward conversations? Wanna stream movies and TV shows to your TV, as you like? Turn on the wii, baby (& get Netflix)! From canoeing with family members, to swordfighting with friends, to cow-racing with acquaintances, to watching old episodes of Fraggle Rock, wii will have you laughing, rowing, slashing, lassoing (a la Indy!), and yes, now watching for as long as you can stand it! We’ve had our wii about six months, and it just got better! We just started our Netflix subscription a few weeks ago, and we love that too! With a Netflix subscription that includes the ability to stream, if you’ve got an internet connection to your house, you can watch any one of TONS of movies and TV shows (stuff you can’t get on OnDemand!) My beau was especially excited about the 21 Jump Street Episodes :) Be prepared to spend more than just the purchase price for the wii – there are lots of fun extras that you kinda need, extra wii-motes and nun-chucks, in addition to the games (tip: always read the reviews on the games, I’ve bought a doozey or two, & if i had read the reviews here on amazon, I would have saved my $$ for a better game). But, if you have kids or you are even just a couple who goes out a lot, the wii (& now, netflix) may save you some money in the end, and you’ll spend more time together, doing fun stuff. And after all, isn’t that what life’s all about?

Thanks to wii and netflix, we eat at home more (saves money, gas, & calories); watch fewer commercials (they’re bad for the psyche AND the wallet!); are more active with our entertainment; spend more time with family & friends; spend less time aimlessly channel-surfing; enjoy more varieties of entertainment, like documentaries, old TV shows, and musician stuff; are more conservative with spending $7-15 per person to see a movie in the theatres (that we hopefully will enjoy!); and actually look forward to spending time at ho

After Salinger’s death, I wanted to reread The Catcher in the Rye, so ordered a used paperback. It is in new condition and I’m quite happy with it. Delivery was within the estimated time.

As I said in my title, this cable works great. Not much else to it. I plugged it in, and it functioned just like it should. The physical cable itself seems to be of good quality on visual inspection too.

Does what an HDMI cable is supposed to do, without having a ridiculously high price. I used it to hook up my seagate freeagent theater to my 720P TV, and have excellent results.

Office 2007 is a good suite of applications. The only thing that prevents me from giving it a top rating is Microsoft’s constant altering the user interface from previous versions and, in my opinion, not for the better. I resorted to 3rd party add-ons that largely allowed one to revert to previous menus.

Scale looks good and produces consistent results. It’s easy to read. Not having to tap on it is convenient. I’m happy with the purchase.

I actually made it through this book to the end despite all its faults. I’m astonished at how much positive hype this book has received. I might give it 2 stars for the compelling concept, if it had not received so many unwarranted 5 star reviews. The dialogue is cute to the point of trite, character depth and development is cardboard thin at best and placement of the book believably in its time and place is virtually non-existent. In an interview at the back of the book the author mentions being a technical writer for tech firms. This is clear in the brittle, if well intentioned characters.
